Cuerpo y vínculo: entramados en curso. Jacqueline Karen Serra U.

Abstract:

In this work a process and relational approach to the body is made and applied to the psychotherapeutic context. The body is understood as the basis from which we interact; at the same time, these interactions are constructing corporal practices and biological structures. This means that our interaction is given in a bodily way, our way of being with others is expressed in gazes with their variations, intensities and times, respiratory rhythms, muscle tones and gestures... There is an implicit dance that holds much more than what is possible to illuminate with words. On the other hand, the incarnated way of being of a subject is given by the present bonds and the lived history of interactions. To illustrate, the emergence of a emotion cannot be apprehended without considering the relational context that allows it. We cannot understand the body without the bond that makes it possible and the other way around. The ongoing web of the bodily and bond dimension implicates that this process of relating in an incarnated way is the one that creates structures both biologically (brain connections for example) and corporeal/interactive practices that are rigidified and automated. After exploring this relational/process perspective, we are going to contrast it with psychotherapeutic theories with essentialist and mechanist assumptions, highlighting when this assumptions appear in relational theories.
