Abstract:

Psychoanalysts have been studying the importance of the maternal role in the development of the psychic structure of the individual, as well as in the acquisition of autonomy and the delimitation of psychic and corporal delimitation. Following this theoretical movement, a French psychoanalyst, Didier Anzieu, elaborated the concept of the "Skin-Ego", a metaphorical development between the skin and the shadowy border-land which separates the internal and the external world, and allows the construction of an identity.

Keywords: Skin; D. Anzieu; Psychoanalysis; Theoretical construct; Psychic envelopes; Identity.
