Resumen:
Mediante este trabajo sugiero que los términos transferencia y contratransferencia no dan cuenta adecuadamente de las experiencias que identifican; y que los podemos comprender de forma más inclusiva y útil si damos prioridad a la especificidad diádica del proceso en el tratamiento psicoanalítico. Presentaré un caso que ilustra cómo la responsividad1 a la mutualidad emergente dentro de la especificidad del proceso evitó la ruptura del tratamiento y mejoró el efecto terapéutico.

Abstract:
In this paper, I suggest that the terms, transference and countertransference, do not adequately account for the experiences they identify; and that we may comprehend them more inclusively and more usefully by privileging the dyadic specificity of process in psychoanalytic treatment. I will present a case example that illustrates how responsiveness to emergent mutuality within the specificity of process averted disruption of the treatment and enhanced therapeutic effect.
