Abstract:

This paper presents some of the aspects that enable transformations to take place in the analytic bond (translation and plasticity), and on the other hand, the different subjective vicissitudes that are constructed in the face of adversity according to the attributes and power that they are invested with, how things are faced, and specially the subjective experience of the sustaining bond. From this point of view, some of the general characteristics of the analytic bond in its modulating value of vulnerability are presented, a condition that refers to the difficulty of overcoming adverse circumstances and to the development of non mentalized responses (somatic eclosion, behavioral act). The various vicissitudes are presented through the vulnerable condition (pathology, homeostatic reintegration, over-adaptive or Achilleic resolution and resilient development. The latter classically refers to the capacity to overcome, strengthen and transform in the face of adversity, where hierarchy arranges this last aspect, as the possibility of the creation of something new. This vicissitude will be presented from a meta-psychological perspective based on the notion of Tertiary process and its intrinsic relationship with the significant intersubjective bond. These developments will also be studied through empiric investigations with a tri-dimensional model (ego resources, global psychic functioning and bonding) designed in such a way that the category “bonding” ends up as fundamental in order to define the distinctive subjective vicissitudes in the face of adversity.
